Game Review (written by Edd82) Added on: 07/11/2008
If you were a child of the 80's, you could get away from Micro Machines.
Every child had them or sat next to someone in school who would play with them in class.
I personally used to play with the Micro Machines in my school desk and when Codemasters decided to make the video game it was amazing.
The game brought a new aspect to the series, allowing you to drive around pool table, powerboat around Rubber Ducks in the bath and make massive air jumps on office desks.

The game also allows multiplayer which is so exciting, and in my opinion still gives one of the best original racing games to date due to the overhead view.
For its time the graphics are rich in colour, streamless and detailed. The sound effects are equally as good, with meaty engine sounds and music to hum along too as you race.
As for the gameplay, there are many different Micro Machines on offer and lots of different racers to choice.
These range from sport cars to 4x4 to tanks. Also helicopters and hovercrafts were later introduced which again gave the player another vehicle type to master.
Each vehicle tests different skills. As you play the game more you will develop faster racing lines as you begin to learn the courses

so the game lasts forever as you strive to improve your game.
As the series developed new features became available for example, the "head to head" race where when playing multiplayer, players were rewarded for driving a full screen ahead of the other player.
The game was later released on to the PC which allowed a track editor therefore allowing you to spend hours developing your perfect track to play head to head against your friends.
So for the conclusion, if your after bringing back the old retro racing game and old class room memories of playing with the Micro Machines in your desk, this game is for you.
Its actioned packed, fast paced and leads you to saying "one more race". Due to the fantastic gameplay, awesome graphics and buzz you get from winning a race, I will have to give Micro Machines 10/10. For anyone that has never played the series, get it now!

Classic player vs player environment where the winner stays and the loser passes the controller. A wide range of vehicle choices and the different courses to boot. The single player is just the right curve of difficulty in where to beat the game, you had to be almost flawless.

Heh, something different in the arcade driving genre. This time You'll drive.toys! Boats, 4x4, sport cars.all kinds of toys. The tracks are also very interesting - kitchen table, desktop, bathtub. And it has a good old multiplayer option. Great to play with friends.
