Game Review (written by Moth_03) Added on: 01/24/2007
This is a game that I have been waiting for. I am kind of bias when it comes to games, but this one is closer then anything that I have played before. And I have been looking for many years and on many systems.
When I first played it I though “Hey Starflight in first person”. I found out later that some of the same people who made the Starflight 1 and 2 made it. I don’t want to give too much of the plot away and ruin the experience for the player, so please forgive me for being vague at times.

The game takes place in a science fiction setting (if the name does not give it away). It reminds me of a the 70’s

Star Wars (episode 4-6) and not the new Star Wars (episode 1-3) because the spaceships look like someone blended together random pieces of crap and made a spaceship and not sleek and shiny crafts.
Your character is a sexless (because they never say or let you set up what gender your character is), special agent for a larger government. He/she is called by some old guy to help this government out with a problem in a sector where aliens who look like salamanders have been causing a lot of trouble. You are to unit the local aliens against them. Not an easy task because you have to maintain good relations with each race while staying alive (which is hard to do). Meanwhile you need to explore the universe, collect minerals and animals to be sold for money, and pay your crew.
This leads to a few of my complaints about the game. The guy who sent you on the mission also wants to you to support his space force with your hard earned money. This is very expensive. As well is fuel for your spaceship. Just like fuel is in real life, it is a ripe off in this game also. Considering all of the stuff you have pay for in this game and how hard it is to get paid it pushes the hardness a little far.
Combat is rare in this game. Which is good because it is difficult. The controls for it are weird compared to other games and may take awhile to get used to. Once you have gotten used to it and you then focus on the strategy of the fight and dropping out of combat to coordinate the healing of your crew and repairs of your ship.
Graphics are good for the time. But I have a bias towards these kinds of graphics. Sound is good for it also. I was not overly impressed or disappointed.
I really like this game despite the downfalls. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good game that will take some time.
