Game Review 1 (written by Princessmaeve) Added on: 04/11/2009
This game leaves little to be desired for those looking for a fun, enticing game that has little pressure, but a lot of gain. I personally found it to be quite tedious for someone of my age for younger people it is an interesting and amusing way to spend their spare time. The sense of satisfaction you feel after completing each section of the game is both fun and amusing. You know that you will complete it but yet you still are on the edge.

For those of you looking for an interesting game to play in your spare time this would be the one. The graphics are splendid and are so detailed that they leave little to the imagination. You get sucked into this almost virtual reality world where all this feels real. The enemy is hard one to beat, at first, but once you get the hang of it they seem like mere flies you can easily crush. The rewards you win may only be pretend, but the sense of satisfaction you feel at winning is the most rewarding.
I would recommend this game most highly. It offers a unique gaming experience and an enticing way to lose yourself in a world of make believe. The sound

is brilliant and seems almost real. It takes you away into another world, one where you are the boss and make the decisions. You get choose the side you are on and the historical setting offers you an insight into the past, a past you have only heard stories of. The idea that you might have had relatives in a similar position but this time for real only makes you more determined to complete the game. Though its authenticity with the actual time might be a little off it is still able to suck you in and make you believe that the world you are playing in is real and how that once it was real for the people of the past, though maybe not to the same extent as it is to you.
The real fun and the true core of the game though are the additions of weapons and armory you get as you complete each faction. They give you a sense of power, confidence and supremacy. This really is an enjoyable game that offers an insight into the past but on a scale that many other similar games do not. I would highly recommend it for anybody looking for a good game to play in their spare time. It is truly enjoyable.

Game Review 2 (written by Macgregor) Added on: 10/28/2006
Sub battle Simulator by EPYX was one of the first DOS games that I have ever played. I don't know how realistic the speeds and depths were but it was a fun game. The game consists of 4 levels of play and used keyboard keys for different functions.
The game starts with a message and gives you your marching orders, you then proceed to the map coordinates specified and begin your game, and you should probably start at the lowest level of difficulty. I seem to recall a help screen but think you would select difficulty level at the beginning of the game. Some of the more interesting functions are available at the higher levels such as periscope increments in feet and sea state effects activate at level 4, level 3 enables weather effects activation, enhanced ability of airplanes and the airplanes drop depth charges. Level 2 disables enemy convoy maps, torpedo range max and damage to sub in single steps.
This game is great! It has good graphics and storyline! I enjoyed this game for many hours and hope you do the same. I highly recommend it to you! You don’t be bored!

Probably the only simulator game that I was able to control and have fun with. Much better that any flight type simulator game. Well worth a try.

I remember watching my brother play this game when I was young. It was a bit above my level at the time, but it is a fantastic game.
