Tornado is one of the most realistic Flight Simulations I have ever seen. According to the Developers it has also been used by the English Royal Air Force (RAF) to train their Pilots.
Basically the Game itself is built like most Flight Sims, after installing and starting the Game, we can first of all create an own Profile and set the basic Controls. Now we can choose between ‘Simulator’, ‘Training’ and ‘Mission’. The Simulator is for Starters to get familiar with the basic Controls and Instruments and nothing can happen to you.

Training is mostly for preparing you as a real Fighter Pilot. Here you train basic Combats and Ground Missions.
When you start together with the Manual (which reads like a real Tornado
Handbook), you learn Step-by-Step how to fly, navigate and fight later. If you are a Beginner, due to the Realism, you may have to spend a lot of Time at the Simulator and the Training later before you can get into real Missions. I recommend you take this Time else it will become frustrating.
Like for all Simulators you are mostly in the Cockpit View where you have all the Controls and Instruments. This already looks like a Copy of a real Tornado Cockpit if you compare it with the Picture in the Handbook. You can choose if you want to take the Pilot’s Seat or be the Weapon Engineer who is on the Back Seat. You can also toggle between both depending on the Action.
The realism started with the Instruments and basic Flight, then continues with Fighting. As the real Tornado mostly uses Bombs for Ground Targets, you most have them here as well. Even throwing Bombs can be very tricky and needs a lot of Training as there are also different Ways available. Those are programmed and described in the Manual. Once you get behind it you will know which Method to use for which Target and Mission.
The Single Missions are mostly flying to a defined Target, destroy and return. Once you find this boring you can start an own Campaign where you have to manage a whole Fleet.
You can also play in Multiplayer Mode where either everybody has its own Jet or you can build Teams where on is Pilot and the other the Weapon Engineer – this is really cool.
As the Game is already some Years old the Graphics of the Targets and Landscape is not that fine, but who cares by this depth of Realism.
Once you got behind the Tornado you will have a lot of Fun in Long-Term as it is always different and you will learn and see something new.
