Game Review 1 (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/14/2007
Tracon II is an air traffic control simulator. You have the position of an air traffic controller. You will be in control of a certain sector, ensuring that every single airplane gets to their destination safely. The main screen is radar that features the aircrafts as a green dot or little planes. Each plane will be moving at a certain speed and at a certain height. Tracon comes with seven sectors plus three military airspace sectors.
The game features pilots’ voices and those of the ATC.

The game features pilots’ voices and those of the ATC. The voice is done over the PC internal speaker system. When there is more traffic in the air the more challenging your job with become. You will be setting routes for the planes and organizing their arrivals times.

There are emergencies that will also occur making your tasks quite difficult for the time being. Commands are issued either by typing in or by the use of a mouse using the pop up windows. There will be a small window that will display in text the communications that have taken place already. There is the capability of calling up performance details on particular aircrafts or the planned routes that the flight is on. Details on each airport that is in your sector can be brought up easily.
This game was first used as a training module for ATCs in the early nineties and then it was developed into a simulation for players. There has been added detail to the depth of perception and radars compared to the original Tracon which gives it that more appeal than the original.
Tracon II is quite realistic for anyone who has seen an ATC board. Australia and European sectors are available which with have pilots with accents to go along with that area. You are able to edit and even create sectors to play on. However you will be unable to make any changes to the voice files without the use of some other software. Therefore with the created airports and reporting points you create will not get spoken by the pilots.
Tracon II is not too difficult of a game when you don’t have many things going on at once. With this game being used for training it shows you that it is quite realistic and who know, you could one day be capable of doing an ATC job. This game is a great game is you enjoy ATC simulators. If you have never played a game like this before this is one you would really enjoy. With the unexpected happenings to come your way, you will always want to be on your toes and prepared for the unexpected. Download it now and you’ll de satisfied and impressed!

Game Review 2 (written by Jambox5) Added on: 03/31/2007
Tracon is an air traffic control simulator, or ATCS, giving you the position of a so called "ATC" (air traffic controller). You are in charge of the air traffic in a certain sector, making sure that every airplane gets to his destination safely and without any problems.
Your main screen is a radar, that shows the aircrafts as green dots, it also has the cool feature of providing you with the height of the planes flight. The more traffic is in the air, the more hectic your job is. You have to set routes for the planes and organize punctual arrivals.
The game is also featuring emergencies, to make your task more difficult. These may include crashes, computer malfunctions, and fires, as well as runway problems and weather conditions.
Tracon was used to train professional ATCs in the early 90's and late 80's, then Wesson decided to develop special simulation units for professional users and continue the Tracon series as entertainment with Tracon II which basically follows the same control and gameplay system with added detail to depth perception and the radars, as well as a slew of new challenges and problems.
