Without a doubt Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing is incredible. This game was interesting for me when I stumbled across it because I used to have the 8-bit game for the original Nintendo Entertainment System and Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing. Being a fan of the NES I had my doubts about the Arcade Racing game but I was blown away. Not only does this game allow for intense competition and impressive detail for what it is, the game is just fun.

Not only does this game allow for intense competition and impressive detail for what it is, the game is just fun. I would say that for those who don't particularly care for racing games that you will still have fun with this game and for those who do appreciate racing games well you have found a game you will respect
and enjoy.
The only things that I noticed about this game was even though I have been a gamer for quite some time I had a trouble getting used to the controls. There were responsive and I constantly found myself overcorrecting as I drove around the course. One thing that can be said is that it’s not sloppy, but just a tad bit too touchy. I found that in this game, the best way to control the lack of controls and over steer was to simply slow down. However in the Turbo game for NES this is not necessary where turns can be taken at full speed with turbo on as long as the turn is taken at the apex.
However with this game if the turn is taken at the apex it is possible to still go off course instead of drifting with the turn and speed. Arcade racing has much smoother and sleek graphics to look at and is very pleasing to the eye. Like mentioned briefly above this is a very simple game that those who don't care for racing games will enjoy because of the games simplicity. But, those who enjoy racing games will enjoy the graphics and hopefully the challenge of the steering. I think that the challenge should be welcomed to see how accomplished of a driver you are!
This game does only work is a low setting color mode so you are going to have to adjust accordingly to the settings of the game in order for everything to look okay! All in all this is one of the most fun and exciting F1/IRL games out there and if your an All Unser Jr fan like so many are then this is the game to satisfy your racing fantasies with simplicity and absolute fun!
