The computer can control other teams and has the ability to invite players to tournaments and exhibition games. Football Masters 98 offers historically accurate European cups for which to compete. It also contains enough history to intrigue most any soccer fan. The user can replay, with complete accuracy, any actual game from history. The only detriment to this game is the gangly user interface. There are no statistics available on the screen and the action is less than stellar. In the midst of a match, there is a performance bar to show how the team is doing, and that is about the only thing moving on the screen, except the ball.
