This game is original and best. It was a true pioneer not just for football games, but for the management genre in general.
Its versatility was perhaps the biggest key to its incredible gameplay. Being able to edit a large number of features allowed you to play this game over and over. If you grew tired, you could change it, start a new League and you would suddenly find yourself refreshed and ready for more.
All lovers of this genre should definitely check this out, even if you're not a fan of American Football.
This game brings so interesting gameplay that even me, someone who probably wouldn't watch the NFL, can sit down and play the game hour after hour, time after time.
The first time I played this game, I jumped right into the creation of my own league. It took me nearly 10 seasons to take my team to the top and even then, it was only achieved through some lucky decisions that could have sent me either way. The signing of a contract with a good player QB was the catalyst of my success, but after signing it took another 2 seasons, before I had assembled a side around him that was capable of going all the way.
I saved all statistics of the
game, even hall of fame. Looking back on it now, even 8 years later, I can see the names of players. Even though they weren’t real, they are as familiar to me as some real life legends.
