Game Review (written by Ronald59) Added on: 03/20/2007
Manager, The was one of the best manager games for the time that it was made. The game starts off by choosing any team, but you start in the third division. Your strength is determined by Fitness, Skill and Form which can change as the game goes on. There are various ways to change the strength of your team. These include going on training camps, which cost money, winning games, as your team skill will go up the more games you win, or buying players at the transfer market.
The game also has the various cups, played in the English Premier League and around the world, such as the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup, the Champions Cup, and the Winners Cup. You always start in the FA Cup, but if you want to get into the other cups, then it depends on your place in the table. Be aware that you have to be in 1st division to compete in anything other than the FA Cup.
The player database is quite good, but sometimes the game gets a bit repetitive. Once you have won all of the cups, there really isn't anything to do except make money which is quite boring. The other problem with this game: there

is no game over, so, if you come last in the third division, then you can still play on. Even in finances you can be -$2000000 and still be able to play.
Overall, this game is quite good, considering the time it was made. I recommend it for soccer manager fans. This game, maybe, won't you occupy you for days, but it will keep you interested for a short period of time. It is worth to play.

Great game. One of the few old games that I can still play with great addiction, everyone should play!

This is a fantastic, classic game that even my friends and family love. It is challenging and very realistic.

Nice game. It's simple but in a strange way very addictive, and I think it is one of the best manager games ever.
