Nascar racing is a nice break from the pretentious street racing games out there. If you enjoy watching Nascar on TV you will definitely dig "NASCAR Racing". It has everything you could possibly want in a track style racing game and the feel is definitely one of the coolest things I have seen in gaming today. the graphics are crisp and the gameplay is smooth not once did I find a glitch. the first time I played this game I could tell that I would be able to spend countless hours playing for the sheer delight of feeling like a Nascar super star.
The Detail on the audience is not the greatest but it’s not noticeable as you race along the track. its hard to beleive there arn't more games like this out there already that have become popular. Playing "Nascar Racing" takes me back to a simpler time in videogames when games did not need to go for violene and other gimmicks to sell. Video games used to be popular if they were engaging to play and this game certainly is that, it is engaging. After playing for about two and a half hours I realized that I had been playing for much longer than I had intended. At first glance the game may look simple and linear but it is not in the slightest. there are several
cars to chose from with different sponsor logos and different drivers. spoiler, brake and other adjustments can be made that effect the ride and control of your vehicle which provides unlimited tweak ability.
The track selection also wowed me the range of difficulty spans from simple donut shaped tracks with wide corners, to tracks that wind and snake all over. this wide range of selection in tracks makes learning the basics easy and allows novices to catch on slowly and build up their skill before tackling the more difficult tracks.
While I am a Nascar fan I do notice that they games designers are talented with making true to life replicas of actual Nascar racers' cars and this makes playing the game even more enjoyable. The most interesting part of the game to me is the damage your virtual car can take and must be taken through the pit stop where a crew is waiting, which to me is the most exciting part about real life Nascar. While Nascar is not on the air between seasons I am sure this game will satisfy my craving.
