Game Review (written by Rojas) Added on: 07/25/2006
The game this article relates to is called Ping Pong (Table) and it is, I think, one of, if not the, greatest ping pong games out there for a PC. The level of difficulty for one thing is a challenge but only difficult enough for you to have to practice skills for a little bit so you can win the tournament. I like the fact that you can choose between three different paddles each with different stats in order to defeat your opponents and use the style of play you are most comfortable with.
Also, the mechanics of the balls movement from backspin, frontspin, sidespin, and even hitting edges of the table or the net are all very realistic. Your surroundings are also a nice background for Ping Pong playing and are also interactive with the ping pong ball. For instance, on few occasions I have witnessed the ball going under the lazy boy after a missed hit or edge hit. I also like the fact that you can practice your hitting and curving techniques in the practice mode before trying your luck in the tournament. Those practice rounds come in handy when you need to figure out a move or what to do in certain situations and being able to choose your opponent (different opponent equals

different level of difficulty) gives you exactly what you need to dominate when it really matters. One thing I do have a negative comment about is that in the tournament mode I think they should really change the backgrounds to something a little more professional considering it being a tournament. I don't usually see tournaments being played in someone’s game or living room. Also, it is a little hard for me at least to serve the ball because I have to bring my paddle all the way to the edge of the screen before you can hit the ball. Other than that I think the graphics are great and the little waiting times between matches, although somewhat annoying, are required for such great game play and also allows time for advertisement for the sponsors of the game which is why I'm always left feeling a little like Bill Cosby after playing this game. In conclusion I give this game 4.75 out of 5 and am looking forward to many hours of ping pong fun on my PC.
