Player Manager 2 is an excellent managerial soccer game, released in 1995 by Anco Software Ltd. It differs from most other soccer games of the same genre. When the game begins you are a player as well as the manager of a randomly selected team. Initially, you will be the player manager of a lowly ranked 2nd or 3rd division club and, consequently, you will be the best player at the club.
Player’s ability is based upon 14 different attributes: pace, acceleration, stamina, resilience, agility, vision, adaptability, aggression, flair, temperament, passing, shooting, tackling, and control.

Player’s ability is based upon 14 different attributes: pace, acceleration, stamina, resilience, agility, vision, adaptability, aggression, flair, temperament, passing, shooting, tackling, and control. The players will vary between the ages of 16 to 35, and will be ranked in each attribute out of 5 stars, and their star rating will change when they
play in different divisions. For example: a 5 star ranked player in 3rd division may only be a 2 star ranked player in 2nd division.
Obviously managing and trading your players is the most integral part of the game, but another factor plays a major role in how well you do - supporter and board room opinion. A manager that has led his team to victory in every game may still be sacked, if the supporters or board dislike him. You must appoint staff and set, how much training the team will do, as well as select sponsorships, which gives the game the feeling of being a genuine managing experience.
In addition to the managing aspect of the game, you may also control your player manager on the field. However, you require a joystick to do so. This brings me to the graphics of the game, which are highly varied. The graphics between matches at the club, where you will spend most of your managing time, are superb. However, the graphics during matches are not so brilliant, but still is entirely viewable.
All in all Player Manager 2 is a highly enjoyable and extremely challenging game. I thoroughly enjoy playing Player Manager 2 and recommend it to all fans of the management genre.
