Bitmasters Incorporated developed Pool Champion for Windows and Windows 3.X in the middle nineties. It was later released by Mindscape Incorporated. It is a realistic billiards simulation game that was prided as having more substance and character than other billiards simulations of the day. The game features both first person perspective, and overhead, top down views of the various billiard tables.
Pool Champion, while basically being a billiards simulation, also combines elements of a role-playing game. Throughout the game, the user’s character has to interact with his or her opponents as the billiard matches unfold.

Pool Champion, while basically being a billiards simulation, also combines elements of a role-playing game. Throughout the game, the user’s character has to interact with his or her opponents as the billiard matches unfold. There are several ways to play the game, but the most popular has to be the Great American Pool Adventure. The goal is to play against these characters, hustle would be a more
appropriate word, and build your beginning fifty dollar bank roll to a more substantial amount…enough to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada and compete in the National Nine Ball Tournament. The user will hop from pool hall to pool hall, places like Dave’s Chopper Club and Matt’s Billiard Hall, playing against a multitude of opponents. He will have to bet intelligently in order to raise his Vegas money.
The user can also spend his hard earned cash on purchasing a new and better pool cue, or buying lessons to improve play and learn new shots. As play continues, the opponents get tougher and cockier, forcing the user to become better and learn new things, or fail. The game does not stay the same either. New billiard games must be learned and variations of old games mastered in order to continue winning and making money. There are eight total variations of different games. Eventually, the user will find himself in Las Vegas at the tournament. It is this gaming option that is the most like a role playing game.
Aside from the Great American Pool Adventure, the user can also choose to play single game matches against the computer’s AI, or another human player. The gamer can also choose to simply practice shots by himself on an open table with no opponent. Here is the best place to learn the physics of the game, which are quite realistic. The user has control over speed of the cue, angle, and even English, giving him all the options of a real pool shot. Pool Champion is a great realistic play for all of these reasons, and the adventure mode is a great RPG element that sets it apart from other pool sims. Download it now.
