Game Review (written by Stavr0s87) Added on: 09/29/2006
Sensible World of Soccer European Championship Edition is a classic Football game that incorporates the basics of all football games on the market today. Sensible World of Soccer is a very user friendly game that allows players to pick and choose their level of interaction. It contains all league and cup competitions for the major world leagues, including continental and world competitions. This of course includes Euro 96, which was held in England.
This game also contains every international football team in existence during the 95/96 season, as well as the correct teams in Continental cup competitions during this season.
You can however, take a particular team out of these competitions, and replace them with a team of your choice. Have you ever wondered how Plymouth Argle would fair against Bordeux? Probably not, but you can find out in this game.
A user can watch, manage or play an individual match of Sensible World of Soccer, or take on the computer in a career format.
The career engine allows the user to team up with a Doug Ellis Esq. chairman, and tackle the teams of the world. I find that pure management is the hardest aspect of the game, as it truly tests your abilities to find the right balance of players in a football team. I usually play career, but actually

become a player/ manager so I have more control over the outcome of the matches (more fun that way). A note would be to say that the chairman is ruthless like the above mentioned Doug Ellis, and if you don't meet the board’s expectations, you'll be picking up your P45 quicker than you can say relegation.
Given enough practice, you can conquer the champions league with the Farers islands 'HB', then go on to manage a national team. Best thing is the players never get any older, so you can still have all your legendary players from yester year in your team.
Users can also create their own teams, kits and players and then send them out to battle the likes of Juventus, Barcelona PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United.
Sensible World of Soccer European Championship Edition is definitely worth a look, its user friendly, easy to get into but difficult to master. It’s very easy to get addicted to. It's like Pro Evolution and Champ Manager combined.
