UEFA Champions League has captured the hearts of true soccer players/ followers the world over and to have a game that replicates the action and excitement in your home is something to behold.
Displaying similar characteristics to its more popular counterpart of FIFA 98, UCL has limited movement and freedom of expression when it comes to moves for an individual whilst on the ball and the team in general when it comes to executing tactics that you may have envisaged before the game.
I often found that by purchasing the right players in the domestic markets before the start of the season and respective trading window closures that I could easily complete the initial group stages.

I often found that by purchasing the right players in the domestic markets before the start of the season and respective trading window closures that I could easily complete the initial group stages. However, this was often not enough when coming up against the
caliber of the teams like Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan who would play as a complete team. There would always be frustration displayed by me at my player's inability to run at defenders and to get around them using a special combination move. For the likes of good teams (as mentioned above) would have a rock solid defense and strip the ball of my team before I had a chance to pass it around.
The graphics in the system are good for that time, with the ability to distinguish your favorite players readily. Additionally, the kits look fantastic and allow us to revel in the nostalgia of UCL in its formative years.
The menu system was a joy to use, with team selections conducted with ease and substitutions during the game and also at the half time break easy to make.
Overall, this game is good to play and can provide hours of enjoyment. Note: it doesn’t get repetitive because there are a variety of teams to choose from.
