I remember when I first bought this game thinking how fantastic it was. It's hard to believe that this was the golf game that would evolve into the Tiger Woods Golf series. Which I think is, hands down, the best golf simulation available for the PC or any of the next generation game consoles. But getting back to World Class Leader Board. The PC version had to be played using the keyboard. But with that said, in WCLB, your view is from behind your golfer looking toward the green.

cursor that you can move left or right using the left and right arrow keys. You change your golf club using the up and down arrow keys. There is wind that has to be taken into account. It's indicated by a pole with a line coming off of it. The higher the pole is, the stronger the wind is. The direction of the line coming off the pole indicates the direction of the wind. Wind mostly comes into play when you’re using a driver, fairway woods or long irons.
Most of the time you will use the regular shot, but the punch shot is useful when shooting from the rough or trying to get under a tree. I've noticed the punch shot can also be used like a chip shot when you are just off the green. It gives better control for short shots. Once you’re on the green, is when the game really gets challenging. The slope and break is indicated by a pole and line, similar to the wind gauge. The higher the pole is, the steeper the slope. The longer the line is, the harder the break will be. It also indicates the direction of the break. Shots are made using the space bar. Press and hold, then release for distance. Press again for accuracy. My only complaint about the game was the lack of computer opponents.
I highly recommend it. It's still fun to play to this day. A definite classic.
