Game Review 1 (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/12/2007
A-Train was the beginning of the train simulations that offered 3D views. It was still really isometric but it still was quite challenging. It is a very addictive game that makes you loose track of time.
To start you will begin with a small area of the map and a train that is from ‘out of town’ that will be dropping off supplies. When you start to progress further along in the game you will be able to purchase more trains as long as your funds will allow this.

To get passengers around you will have to add passenger trains on or you will not be able to relocate the people in your game.
The city that is surrounding your train

track will build itself up as long as the goods from out of town keep coming in. You will also have the option to create factories, but those goods will be sold to other places to bring in more funds for your town. The train will transport the workers to and from the factories that you have built in your game.
Once you have determined how to run the trains and ensure no collisions your town will start to run more smoothly as long as you have goods coming in and out. The trains can vary in size. It is based on how much money you had at the time of purchase and how many things you wanted to be able to transfer at a certain time. With A-Train you have the capability to set leave times for each station and each train, but you have to ensure that everything is set correctly or you could have two or more trains encountering each other.
There is a selection of 40 different trains and 20 different scenarios. With the variety to select from each game that you create can be created in its own way. If you enjoyed any one of the other simulator games that have been released over the years there is no doubt this is another simulator that you will get hooked on. This game can be difficult once you have a larger amount of trains and more transfers to handle. This game can be played by all ages and will be enjoyable to all who like simulators. With the strategic appeal and tons of organization that it will need this game will keep you on your eyes and having your fingers crossed that your trains don’t collide.
All in all A-Train is addictive, interesting and beautiful game! If you don’t play it downloading it immediately! You’ll be satisfied and delighted!

Game Review 2 (written by Twokssei) Added on: 11/04/2006
This was probably the Original Train simulation to offer '3d' views - even though it was really just isometric. Still, it was quite the challenge. Before we knew it, my dad and I spent the whole night playing this back when we first got it.
Basically, you start with just a corner of the screen and a train from 'out of town' dropping off supplies. You can add more trains as your funds allow. You have to add passenger trains to get them around. The city will build itself up, but you have to move the 'goods' from out of town to other areas of the map. You can also make factories, but they need to have the goods taken away, but it also needs people brought to the factory and then to pick them up at the 'end' of the day.
Getting the trains to not collide (and auto reverse no fireballs here) was quite challenging. You have to get the timing just right (one time we had a train miss by 1 block and that made the schedule work).
The city would develop from good delivered to marked areas for the goods trains to drop their loads. You can have goods trains and passenger trains of varying lengths, based on how much money you had and how many people you wanted to carry from one stop to the next. You could set leave times for each station and each train at that station.

I loved this game years ago when I had an Amiga, loved it on the PC and still love it now. It takes some getting used to, but is soon addictive.

I really loved this game even thought it is kind of funny (because I tried to get my sister to play and my brother they said it was hard but they liked it). This game is very interesting and very hooking a.k.a. addictive because once you play it you can’t stop.
