Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 04/08/2008
Tetris is a game I never get tired of. I have played so many variations of the game and I just don’t know when ever I see a new version of the game that I would enjoy it just as much as the classic Tetris. Acid Tetris was released in 1997 and was originally created for DOS by Dungeon Dwellers Design.
Acid Tetris is a fun variant of the game Tetris. Tetris is pure genius and all its other variations are just great.

The game play of the game is the same as that of the original Tetris game. Blocks that are made of different shapes will fall from the top of the screen. You need to arrange the block pieces like a puzzle. When you get one row of blocks complete from edge to edge then that row will become destroyed. The blocks will never stop falling. Your goal is to continue destroying rows and prevent the blocks from reaching the top of the screen. When you fail to arrange the bricks nicely and you don’t get to erase rows then the game screen will be filled with bricks and you lose the game. You can rotate the bricks before placing them in the right

spot.
The game screen will not change and the game play will stay the same until you die in the game. Whenever you reach a certain score the pace by which the bricks fall from the top of the screen becomes faster. When you get at the higher levels of the game it becomes a real challenge trying to get the bricks in the right place.
The game still has a classic feel to it even if the sounds and the graphics have been greatly improved from the original. It still has a cheeky, arcade feel to it that brings back tons of happy memories of childhood. The sounds of the game have also been improved in this version. The graphics is much improved because this Tetris features more color.
As an added feature to the game, a smiley appears every time you get to delete a row of the bricks. The appearance of the smile differs depending on the number of rows you delete. You get higher points when you delete the maximum number of rows possible for a single turn which is four lines of bricks.
You can download a copy of this game even if you already have one or two other Tetris versions in your PC. You won’t regret it. It’s simple yet enormously fun.
