Game Review (written by Moe1aa) Added on: 11/26/2006
I have played this game at least 1000 times. As an old school gamer from the 70's, 80,s, 90's, and today I have seen many changes to the gaming world. This game brings me back to playing as a kid. Although it was introduced on CD Rom I believe in 1995 (Not Positive) it had the old school touches, bad graphics, slow play, but quality at it's finest. It was difficult in those days to find a game that couldn't be beaten.

Although it was introduced on CD Rom I believe in 1995 (Not Positive) it had the old school touches, bad graphics, slow play, but quality at it's finest. It was difficult in those days to find a game that couldn't be beaten. This was one of them. It has many different ways to start playing and finishing the game which was very cool back then. As a child this game brought the "explorer" out in all of us.
It is challenging game that requires

strategy and skill from the very first move. In the beginning of the game you must start by searching for land by exploring. Be careful, if you select the wrong direction you may end up a long way from sea. Search for a piece of land that contains a river, plantation (flat land grass), and a mountain. You’re going to need these in order to succeed. On another note: make sure you don't start killing a lot of tribes or starting wars in the beginning. If you get excommunicated from the church all your enemies will start war with you and it costs a lot of money to get our from excommunication.
Make sure you build churches; they are not expensive and are very useful when needing to go to war. Don't let your ships sit idol why you are growing crop. Make sure to keep exploring. You can find a few tribes with gold and jewels. Sell the gold in the beginning (there isn't a lot of it). As far as trade is concerned be sure to keep your enemies close that way you can sell your goods to there port for more Doubloons (money) before you go and build a new ship be sure to check out the tavern and the ship yard to see if anyone is selling. I usually try for about 1 year (full cycle) before I commence building. There are other things to do like invest your money into science. This helps you to acquire better ships and military before you enemies.
There are many more things to do in this game but as you can see for an early 1990's game this was very advanced for the time. As you can tell by my story I have enjoyed this game for over 10 years and after I download it here because my other cd rom is officially dead, I will enjoy it for another 10 years. I hope you get use out of my info and have Fun Exploring!!!

One of a kind styled game with many unique multiplayer options. The AI can be quiet hard to shut out but all in all it is a lot of fun.
