Game Review (written by Ow123) Added on: 02/21/2007
This was a blockbuster strategy game when it first came out. Dan Bunten wrote this turn based strategy war game.
Build different unit types in order to conquer cities. Unit types are air, sea and land. Players start with their own cities and basic units, and move and recon to see and conquer the rest of the world. There are different types of games, you can build your own maps, and make icons for your teams.
The graphics are good, although dated by today's standards.

The graphics are good, although dated by today's standards. This is a simple turn based war game. It is not so much about resources, as it is about conquering cities and gaining resources to build new units, thus allowing you to conquer more area. No buildings are necessary, resources are

gained by conquering cities, capturing resources, and sending in spies (another great feature!). You can turn on up to 4 players, some can be set to computer players, and it has an option to play over modem.
I found this game simple, but addicting! Easy to play, but with the different game types (timed, short, long, win by conquering all, win by destroying all) there are many ways to play! The simplicity allows you to enjoy conquering, and not be burdened with making buildings (not required in this game). You have many options you can change (amount of resources, amount of cities, capability of "native" units, etc). Fun unit types (like invisible spies allow you to see units of your opponent) make this game highly interesting.
Map editor allows you to create custom maps, of any shape and multiple sizes. You can control placement of cities, unit starting positions, size of water area, etc. Icon editor allows you to edit the icons of the individual teams. Computer AI is not advanced, but you will be surprised how with the fog of war, it can sneak up on you.
I still love to play this game, 15 years after its release!
