Game Review (written by Gwmanners) Added on: 01/16/2007
What can be said about this game that has not already been said.
Addictive - Yes
Fun - Yes
Weird - Yes
It is one of those simple games that after playing a few islands you think just one more and you’re there for another 4 hours.
The way the game works is simple at each stage there is 3 islands and you have 100 people to use to divide up for conquering each island, but be careful as the computer doesn't seem to follow these rules and I’ve been outnumbered many a time! These people will breed and generate more when on the islands but a decent amount will give you an advantage.

You will then be given a choice of location on an island the best location is paramount as some of the spaces don't have many resources so make sure you choose a good location!
Once on the island it is a very simple game management system.
If you leave people doing no task they will breed, the more you have the more you get. This logic works the same with the mining of resources as well which is needed for the construction of weapons.
Research is a little different though. The more people that you stick on a project the faster it will be researched BUT some projects can only be researched when you have either mined the appropriate resource to build it or reached a certain tech level.

game starts with your guys starting out as basic cavemen and working their way up through the middle ages then modern day and beyond, but with each progression of islands you’re starting level begins higher and the level you can reach also gets higher. I still get a smug sense of satisfaction attacking someone with high end weapons against someone who hasn't even got out of the middle ages yet!
One of the good things about this game is that expansion is VERY easy. Move an army into an unoccupied area of the island they will eventually build a new base which will be back at the starting tech level but they will have all their weapons stacked up to save manufacturing them HAHA!
Attacking is the one thing in the game I do not like, it goes once again on sticking as many people as you can in attack and tech levels don’t seem to make that much difference sadly. Altogether it is still a game I can go back to and play whenever I want a good laugh without much thought

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I spent countless hours playing it on my amiga - years ago. I still play it occasionally on my laptop(via an amiga emulator). It's a classic and a must have for any strategy game fan.

This is number 4 in my top ten games, it is a proper classic! It tests your skill, strategy and patience, you could easily spend the next two weeks bashing away on this game. It’s a pleasure to leave a review for this game.

I love this game. It was the first one I played on the old Amiga, thanks to it we've got all the RTS games we've got today.

This is a truly remarkable game! There have been few games that have the ability to keep you truly hooked, this has to be one of the best. I used to spend hours playing this game as a kid around my best mate’s house. You always remember the games that you played as a kid and sometimes one or two stay with you for life. Chose your God, develop your people and conquer the world! What more could you want from a classic conquer game?? An absolute must for anyone who just likes being a kid again! My rating 10/10

I was given this game shortly after it was realised on the sega mega drive. I would stay up all night to play the game and went to school many times without getting any sleep at all.

I purchased Mega Lo Mania shortly after its release and fell in love with the game and its challenges. Less than a year later my floppy drive to a dive into the deep end and ruined my disk. I tried to repair the files manually, but was not successful because of the security codes. I have been looking for replacement files for years. Thanks for bringing my game back. Anyone who plays this game is a bit insane and will love it. Well worth the download. It has a very good style for an older non-3D environment game which I enjoy more. Have fun!

I loved this game and would spend hours on it. My favorite part was the R&D guy - ticking away until he comes up with that new legendary phrase "the design is ready". Genius.

This is a superb game. I remember from many years ago. It gave me many hours of fun on my Amiga and it should still be fun for those who are used to much better graphics these days. It's a straight forward game that can become totally addictive!
