What can I say about this game? It is a classic, at least in my nostalgic mind, which I first encountered on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This strategy/arcade hybrid game is a perfect time occupier. With an interface similar to other war strategy games (Risk, Panzer General, etc.), this game is very intuitive and offers an animated map that defines regions that, although can be occupied, need to be considered strategically.
This game, based on future events of the American military, takes the gamer to a time and place where they will preserve our way of life against the tyranny of an evil dictatorship.

This game, based on future events of the American military, takes the gamer to a time and place where they will preserve our way of life against the tyranny of an evil dictatorship. Although a grim topic in general, this game focuses not on the national dissent that divided the globe, but rather uses this backdrop
to provide an immersive gaming experience.
Although not the hardest game in terms of strategy, it did offer something new (for its time) with a combination of mini-games that propelled the storyline. After a bit of exposure, the game situation becomes a bit typical and formulaic. However, it is initially addictive and draws you in for at least a few hours of gaming fun and in many cases will test your resolve.
The graphics are typical of the era , which serves the purpose of a dark and dreary futuristic setting. Nothing strikingly dramatic as the palette consists of bold primary colors and artwork reminiscent of childhood drawings.
The sounds are situation appropriate, whether the hissing and clacking of a robotic marine or the explosion of a well-placed mortar round. The music is dark and expertly adds an element of atmosphere that exudes the eminence of a desperate time of struggle and war.
Overall, this game is well worth a test drive. It is a solid addition to any game library and provides a challenging and fun experience that most war based games miss in their pursuit of pain-staking detail. I may be overly nostalgic of a simpler time and place in my past, but this game will always hold a special place in my heart. I think that it will at least provide the average player with a game that is easy to jump into and hard to put down. But don't take my word for it, download it today and experience it for yourself.
