Pizza Tycoon was one of the first pioneers in the hands on simulation world. The game totally reminds me of what I would call the first version of what would become "The Sims". You can see and watch the customers and your pizza creations.
Now an old dino of 1994, the table has been filled with every kind and creed of tycoons, including: Airline Tycoon, Animal Paradise Tycoon, Coffee Tycoon, Deep Sea Tycoon (2), DinoPark Tycoon… Just to name a couple.
When you start off, you need to cover the basics.
.... First rent a place, get some Chairs, tables, flooring, and some pizza recipes. Now you have to create and transfer 3 or more recipes to the menu for customers to enjoy (hopefully). Time to hire chef, and waiter then buy some supplies (stock). READY. SET. GO.
Open the restaurant.
You want to try to hire chefs/waiters with good cooking/serving skill, to keep everyone happy, and managers should have good motivation, this affects how often they shop for stock food items.
Keep your restaurant well stocked with food items. Don't try to economise too much on ingredients because you'll need 'em. Pizza Tycoon is loaded with little fun extras too, like "joke items" (sabotage) such as rats, laxatives, smoke bombs... rapidly rises you in Mafia
ranks. If you wish to buy weapons, it is best not to be too obvious about it!
The advertising is good for a week when done. Posters seem to be a good value. If you do a newspaper ad, try to form a complete sentence, though this is often tough. Buying max flyers is pretty cheap. Don't forget to do more advertising each week.
Pizza Tycoon is a whole pie full of fun!
