Powermonger is an old game from 1990, but it has many of the qualities of a game that requires you to continue playing. The only game that I have found with the addictive qualities of Powermonger is the Championship Manager series.
The game requires you to take the part of a general and to lead you to victory over each map with your troops. You start with an easy level and one island to become in control of. But as the game progresses you have even more challenging maps to overcome.

The game requires you to take the part of a general and to lead you to victory over each map with your troops. You start with an easy level and one island to become in control of. But as the game progresses you have even more challenging maps to overcome. The game is a delight in that you are always challenged and each level asks you to think a bit harder. Any other game could easily spill out variations on the same
level but here Powermonger does not cave in to this demand. Other games such as the SimCity, Park, etc. series fall into this trap for me but this game does not.
One of the features that intrigues me is the alliances that you can form with other generals. These are hard to form in part and require skill which you will gain over various levels! You just need patients over the first series of maps to gain that kill and also that required level of patients.
So in conclusion then I very highly recomend you to play Powermonger. But when you do play it take it seriously.
This is a game requires attention and thought. But most of all it requires you to take it to heart as seriously as the people who designed the game. It is obvious from the start that the designers of the game have looked at the game and decided the Powermonger should be as realistic as they could possibly make it so. They have aimed to make everything from combat to the creation of new assets from pots to weapons as realistic as possible So much so that you will have to consider every decision that you make throughout the course of each level. Good Luck!!!
