Romance of the three kingdoms also known as Samkok is one of the most interesting strategy game ever created. It is based on an olden days China kingdom where it was at one point split into three "main" kingdom. Depending on which mode you choose to start the game, you can start from the beginning where there were the yellow turbans rebel or you choose to the later years where there were already that three kingdom.
I personally prefer to start from the beginning, and you can also kind of see how the history unfolds itself.
To play the game, you basically need to build an army, recruit generals, and train the armies and go to war. However, being a ruler, you also need to understand the civilians involved, hence you need to farm and depending on which version of the game, there are more things that you need to do such as economic, spending money to invest on building more equipments like boats for you to sail.
The war mode I think is really interesting as you can choose to have troops to ride on horses, or infantry or with arrows. Again, depending on your tactics, the number of armies doesn't always win. I believe generally if you can get a hold of the castle, you automatically
win, or when you kill the leading general you also win the battle. Therefore, you must be smart to play with strategy and try not killing people who will be beneficial to you.
There are different kinds of generals with different kinds of stats. There general who are really good with war, but some are more intelligent and some are more charming. In order for you to succeed, you need all kinds of people with different kinds of talent. For example, during war, if you ask someone with low intelligence to carry a tactic, it will more probably fail. But, if you ask someone with a high intelligence, like for example to create a fire, it will most probably succeed. Of course this will also depend on the weather if it was windy or not, or maybe it could be raining, and if so, you will probably not succeed in creating the fire.
It is also worthwhile to search for talent as there might roam generals who are very capable that you could try to recruit. When trying to recruit, this is when your charisma comes into play. Higher charisma usually have higher success rate of recruiting.
