What I like about this game is you can play against the computer or a friend can join you and you can play 2 player mode (but they CAN see your letters)
It only takes up about 5MB on your hard drive so its not like its a huge game either and the graphics are pretty good!
You use the mouse to control the game, one click to pick up a tile and one to drop it, simple as!
You can make the game harder if you wish by making it that no 2 letters or plurals can be used.
No plurals makes it harder to play off your opponents words.
Something that may appeal to some players is the Edit Board feature. This features lets you set up the board in a particular position, similar to setting up a chess board, and also create the racks you use. The Edit Board feature is great for those wishing to practice puzzles from the "Everything Scrabble" etc books. These books have puzzles which aid your gameplay and are really annoying to set up on a normal board. Despite all these good points there are a few minor points which happen to bug me about Scrabble: Deluxe Edition.
First off you have a mouse based interfaced. Ok so to begin with I thought this was pretty
cool but it can become annoying and frustrating when you have to anagram a group of letters or when you need to find a particular word pattern. It all done using the mouse and this can be a pain! Second of all there isn’t a Solitaire mode (which is something you may find on the CD ROM Version) of Scrabble: Deluxe Edition. The only way of which you can enjoy and play a solitaire game is choosing the 2 player game and playing yourself. Ok so this can be interesting but it is seriously not the same as playing a solitaire game.
Overall I'd have to say this is a great version of Scrabble which I’d definitely recommend. And if you are a serious player of scrabble then the edit board feature is perfect for you. Its an amazing computer version of the actual board game and worth a play.
