Game Review (written by Dduckett) Added on: 11/18/2006
This game is known to many people because of the widely acclaimed scrabble board game this is sure not to let fans down! There isn't much of a learning curve unless you're completely unfamiliar with scrabble. Single player is challenging and definitely helps to build vocabulary skills while allowing you to have fun, and play the game.
Really, it’s Scrabble without the hassle of setting up pieces, and finding people to play with. Sooner or later the computer gets boring so you can take the game online where there are plenty of opponents waiting to challenge you.
The best strategy is to play single player before going online so you get the feel of the game. Without using the multi player option the game would be somewhat dull, but the replay value is great, especially if you liked the board game.
If you're not a fan of puzzle games then I'd stay away because there isn't anything else going for it. The computer opponent known as Maven has 6 different skill levels, and can be a challenge. Still you don't get as much replay ability with Scrabble if you don't play online. The game isn't so much exciting as it is thought provoking because the real difficulty is only your limit on knowledge of the English language.

online veterans are hard because they play constantly. This is why, as I recommended earlier you start with single player then work your way up till you can beat the AI on a moderate difficulty. In the way of graphics the game looks crisp and clear. The sound is also excellent. It is satisfying to click the blocks into their respective spots, but be prepared to get frustrated (especially on multiplayer) because opponents will pull a fast one on you. I can't emphasize this enough.
As for a strategy don't forget to try and use up rare letters (such as Z, X, and Q) when you can because it's hard enough to make words out of them. Plus the points you end up receiving are massive. This is a great game for a cold winter's day when you're locked up inside or when no one wants to play any board games. Playability is what Scrabble has going for it, and I suggest you jump in and try it if you're a fan of the game. If not, I would keep browsing until you find something a bit more action oriented.
