Stronghold has some great graphics involved in the creation of an excellent game. The creators should be proud of themselves because stronghold is one of the best strategy games I have ever played. The many different levels you play are unique to each other and some are rather difficult to pass. The game-play is a strategy based game where you must build a fort and produce crops to feed your people. This game is totally different to many other strategy games, one major difference which you don’t find in other strategy/combat games are that you can spill oil onto oncoming hordes, which is definitely unique in its creation.

There are two campaigns, one military and one economic.
The economic one is made up of
timed missions where you must gather a certain amount of gold or items to complete. The military based style is mainly of combat, you must produce blacksmiths which produce swords for your army and you must train a huge army and lead them to battle. In stronghold you must have enough money and food to keep your village happy and to hire soldiers for your army. A down point of this game is that when you select to build structures there is no rhythm, to build walls you must enter the castle tab, to build a tower you must enter the castle tab and then towers tab while moats are on the gatehouse screen and weapon producing structures have their own tab.
The enemy’s army also really just comes in from one side of your castle and therefore you will only need to defend one side and keep the other side vulnerable but it never gets attacked and most of the time the enemy usually only use foot soldiers so a nice army of archers and crossbowmen is the way to go because of their ranged attacks. You must try to keep all the villagers happy because if they aren’t they will leave your kingdom. I find this game interesting and challenging.
I recommend giving this game a go, I have been playing it for months and still enjoy it today. I haven’t played a game with this kind if graphics and game-play since age of empires. If you like village management and still intense combat this is the game for you. If you hate trying to keep people happy then maybe a different game is more your style.
