Transport Tycoon is one of the best games ever made. The graphics are great and the play is simple but fun. The best lands are candy land and if you really want to win you should build as many railroads as possible. The farther the load has to travel the more money you get. Also, buying out your competitors is an easy way to win too. Subsidiaries are easy to get with the pop up advertisements just be sure to be the first to complete the run. Trains that do multiple items work well to make lots of money. Save often is the best advise you could get.

I recently installed Transport Tycoon Deluxe on my PC. It is years since I have played this little sim and I found that I still enjoy it.
It allows you to build up a transport network using rail, road, air and sea vehicles. I personally have a preference to building rail networks, but even these will need a few buses to help steal passengers off the opposition. Integrate the road vehicles with your railway stations, get them to bring and take away goods and passengers. This will help your demand grow, the more you carry the more money you will make to help expand your network even further.
Careful expansion is the key to a good game, you have to be able to respond to competitors trying to steal away your goods and passengers. If you have no money, then it makes it hard to stop their new developments. Also try and keep your railways as flat as possible, this helps with quick station to station times, and this in itself can help you keep the passengers using your network over the competitors.
This game is a real treat I do not think that despite the improvements in graphics that any newer version comes close to the ideals set by Transport Tycoon Deluxe. If you can get hold of the Windows version then it will make its installation a lot smoother.
Go ahead and get this title, it is enjoyable and can be replayed many times with never the same outcome.

Graphics are commendable. Able to entertain you for hours. I used to play Tycoon games when I was in my high school years. This version is one of the best. Ranks on the top with Rollercoaster Tycoon.Jimimumf87 (04/04/2009)
