Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/12/2007
USCF Chess is a chess simulation game tailored for the intermediate and advanced chess players. The game offers top down or 3D isometric views with a variety of themed backgrounds. There is an AI system that allows all levels of players from novice to expert, which can allow you to challenge even the most advanced players. You have the option to play against a friend via modem/LAN or against the computer. Interplay Productions, Inc released this game in January of 1998.
With USCF Chess, you can create a user profile which will allow you to keep track of the number of games you win or loose and give you the option to compete in rated or non rated matches. In the rated games you are unable to take back a move and you are unable to force the computer to make a move. The rated games have an affect on your numerical rating. Depending if you are winning games or loosing games will your rating increase or decrease. It depends solely on the number of games you are winning or loosing. USCF Chess is a great game to just sit and relax while playing. Doesn’t require too much mouse and keyboard action and allows you to still have the mental stimulation most look for when playing games. If you enjoy playing chess at home just in your living room, you’ll enjoy playing this game on your computer too. Gives you a bit more of a challenge than what you would be playing on your own.
