Game Review (written by Bobbobsonv1) Added on: 11/25/2006
This has to be one of my favourite DOS games. I think that the program has been put together well and many key factors from real war have been included. These include fatigue, HQ, supply lines and night and day.
The graphics are a bit bleak but they do their job well. One of the set backs is that you have to move every unit individually and it gets very taxing when you get to the bigger levels.
I also think they should have included a level creator.
Utah Beach is my favourite of the series mainly because the first three levels are fairly easy for the allies. While the first level is probably one of the hardest German level. If you enjoy this game you should definitely try out the other three in the series. I really like Market Garden because you can get Polish Troops!!! The colour systems are good but I think the creators should have made some games set in the Island hopping areas with USA, Australian and Japanese troops.
A Walkthrough.
The first level mopping up.
This level is really easy for the Allies. Pretty much all you have to do is smash right into them. And by them I do not mean the American troops represented by the

lovely light green no, by them I mean the German soldiers represented by the light grey dark grey and that really, really weird bluey colour. Any way you do not need to keep soldiers on every city that you come to. As the Germans do not send many soldiers out after you. They tend to just bunker down and defend. Note: do not get over confident, if you do your units will get separated from one another and you will be hard pressed getting them back.
The second level Objective Carentan
This level is slightly harder as the Germans are heavily dug in in Carentan. The best thing to do is to get most of your pale brown infantry and build them up into large stacks in front of the city. Leave a couple of units out because the Germans will send units in on your left flank. Build three of your green units up into a stack and send them in on Carentan's right flank. Now charge. It may take a couple of turns but you should eventually get through.
