3D Construction Kit is not a game, it is a method of producing your own world. It uses a system called Freescape (which anyone who has played Castle Master or Driller should be familiar with). To simplify it down, it is a method of creating and placing simple 3D shapes to create your own universe. You could, for example, create a skyscraper by creating a large cuboids, and then adding windows made from small squares and a lager rectangle for the door at the bottom.

You can also check your work from any angle, and go back and make any changes with the handy object numbering system that it includes, which allows you to alter any piece at any time. You can also save and

load your areas, which means that you can create a long term project, while working on many littler things on the side. This was incredibly useful for me, as it meant that I could create the town I was making, while also working on another smaller project at the same time.
This is all very well and good, but what can you do with it? Well, this is the very interesting aspect of this program, you can actually write your own games with it! You see as well as all of the designing aspects there is also a 'Conditions Menu' which lets you access a special programming language in which to control aspects. The language is a sort of customized BASIC.
You utilize this basic language to create gameplay and then use the compiler, which allows you to use it as a separate program. Then you can give it to your friends or put it online, and you are now a certified games designer.
When I first saw this software, I never believed that it could work half as well as it did. It is quite simply an incredible device, which allowed me to create my very own games. Simply superb.
