Game Review 1 (written by Blaizemount) Added on: 07/10/2009
Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate was the first of the series that I came across. Never before had I played anything like it. Since my completion of this game I have gone to complete it another 10 times over as it was so entertaining! I was inspired to play the rest of the mystery case files games, but Madame Fate will always be my favorite. This game is an example of a brilliant hidden object game. For those of you who are new to hidden object games, it is quite clear: in each location you are given a list of perhaps 10 or so objects to find. However, it is not as simple as it seems! The objects are so craftily hidden that it often takes quite a while to find them, especially as the objects blend so neatly into the scenery!
The story behind the game is that a fortune teller has predicted her own death, she suspects everyone at the carnival and it is down to you (as the detective) to investigate. You must investigate all the workers at the carnival. For each worker you investigate there is a map of the carnival listing all the locations you may investigate and how many hidden objects you need to find from each location. Once you have found all the hidden objects in the map area you have to complete a totally random and thoroughly entertaining mini game which is followed by the investigation of the next worker and yet more mini games.
This game is brilliant, I cannot praise it highly enough. It is one of those rare games that you can be content to play again and again without getting bored, especially since the hidden objects change also there are bonuses once you complete the game which consist of unlocking new rooms and locations.
The artwork of each location is fantastic, it really brings to life the childhood fear and discomfort at being in carnivals or funfairs and phobias of clowns. The carnival is so run down, gritty, dark and sinister. The rides are absolute death-traps! You really have to laugh out loud at the hidden objects concealed in these locations, such as scissors and knives hidden on roller coasters, cigarette ends littered everywhere, chewing gum, pigeons, spiders, guns, swords, the list goes on!
I highly recommend this game.Game Review 2 (written by Cpg-) Added on: 01/23/2009
The hidden object fun of Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate is definitely in your future! Madame Fate, the fortuneteller, has seen her own demise in her crazy crystal ball. You have until midnight to investigate the suspicious carnival workers in her midst and try to change fate by saving the seer. Interrogate a variety of suspects and locate tons of objects that may be clues as you work to unravel the mystery that Madame Fate has glimpsed in her own globe.
